Can anyone remember this rhyme, it went on & on & on. This is what I can remember. Bronco Lane had a pain, so they sent for Wagon Train. Wagon Train was no good, so they sent for Robin Hood, Robin Hood lost his bow, so they sent for Ivanhoe. Showing my age here with the mention of these TV programmes!!Does anybody remember it?? It's been driving me mad. Nobody seems to have heard of it.
Yes i remember it, also, One fine day in the middle of the night, two dead men got up to fight ,back to back they faced each other, drew their swords and shot one another, the blind man saw it, the deaf man heard it, the dumb man shouted for an ambulance, and the man with no legs ran to the fetch a fire engine, which was being pulled by 4 dead horses.
Bronco Laine had a pain,
So they sent for wagon train,
Wagon train was no good,
So they sent for Robin Hood,
Robin Hood lost his bow,
So they sent for Ivanhoe,
Ivanhoe killed a man,
So they sent for Big Cheyenne,
Big Cheyenne was having tea,
So they sent for Laramie,
Laramie lost his cargo,
So they sent for Wells Fargo,
Wells Fargo lost its hunter,
So they sent for Billy Bunter,
Billy Bunter was too large,
So they sent for "I'm in charge"
the last bit of this rhyme is significant because it refers to bruce forsyth who told this verse on the London palladium show around 1960 and he reverts back at the end to [i'm in charge'] his catchphrase on the palladium show at that time.
My memory recalls the line as 'Laramie stage lost all its cargo....and I was 9 years old when I watched Brucey say it on Sunday Night at the London Palladium. I'm 72. Now living in Tasmania. I have a you tube channel @penguinmal if anyone wants to check me out. Nice to see you to see you...nice. Mal.
