Enigmatic Variations 1590
30 Answers
Good morning, after a week-end of successful puzzling with the Jumbo Crosswords, the Sunday Times and Mephisto, my attention has come back to EV 1590. Thanks to the comprehensive hints from RickGDG, I’ve been able to make useful progress in getting to understand Charybdis psyche. The grid, with just a few empty cells, looks meaningful now. Hints to this final batch should facilitate the completion of the grid. Thanks in advance!

Good morning, NACW, I have not yet taken up the puzzle. I'm completing the Eye Crossword for a break, but I'll return to the EV 1590 to see if I can make something of the end game that so many solvers seem to be enchanted about. Before I put it down I thought it probably had something to do with Candace C. Kant's " Heart of the Sun..."
Matakari, your psychic powers have made me return to this thread. Your 'middle of a planet' idea for the theme didn't relate at all to 1590... but WAS the theme for 1591! I think you'd been unable to access that puzzle, never mind start solving it... yet you came up with the theme?
PS I'll have this week's lottery numbers from you, thanks...
