Congragulations ! How to be a good grandparent ? Make delicious food for them ( ours come to us as teenagers 'cos they love our food. Mum and dad's is fine and healthy, ours is decadent and special) Play with them at things their parents don't really have time for ( ours are adept at the Rubicube and Chess, amongst other things ) listen to them, give advice to them, ( not to their parents, unless asked for) and be enjoyable to be around. When they are tiny babies, you can't do much, just give mum and dad a break now and then, and your GD will slowly get to know you too. Most of all, enjoy !
