I work in the warehouse of a large shop and work in a small team. I would consider that 5 of us in the team including myself pull our weight and work as hard as we can most of the time.

Now i am rather annoyed today because I can see a situation developing where the five of us are going to start to have to work a lot harder than we need to so that we take up the slack for the other two members of the team of seven.

The other two members of staff are ok i mean one is quite new but been in the company long enough to know what to do. But the two of them are friends outside work, one has a real odour problem and the other is just too chatty with the shop staff. They are both quite lazy and i dont feel they have the ability to go up a gear so as to cope with the huge work load of christmas.

Is there anything i can do, i am loath to talk to my line manager as i dont want to seem like a grass. But think managment in general know that these tow are trouble!

Well i get frustrated when we start to fall behind with our work and things literally start to pile up. Its not fair that we should have to work harder just cos some people cant be bothered to put much effort in.

Admitedly i put too much effort in for what i get paid but i always think if something is worth doing then its worth doing your best, shame others dont share this view!

Hi worried. I agree with you, I have been in situations at work before where it is obvious that some people arent pulling their weight and are favourites of management so you feel frustrated and angry at the injustice. I would be proud if I were you to realise that you are hard working, no matter whether the job pays well or pays peanuts. You have a strong work ethic and should be commended for it. If only everyone was the same. I think that you should relax a little and not take things seriously if work begins to pile up...but if any manager dare tell you off for it then by all means speak to them privately about the matter.
