I’ve given up with it, can’t be bothered in this heat, good job it’s only me and him, and he’s not bothered about a bit of dust.
I may vacuum the window sills tomorrow as they’re covered in dead flies.
I may also clean a loo or two.
And change the bed later in the week.
Have you been doing housework as usual in the heat?

I've been doing as much as I usually do, yes.

And what’s that, OG…very little???
We had visitors for a week who left on Thursday. The house was spotless when they arrived and I've done nothing since they left.

Don’t blame you Tilly. Was it torture having visitors in the heat or were they very good visitors?
No, not torture. They were very helpful but we had to keep doing things when all I wanted to do was sit in the shade and read my book.

I always feel exhausted after having visitors no matter how good they are (all our visitors are family and very good at mucking in) but in this heat I don’t think I’d survive.
Hope you enjoyed having them.
I want to paint my little box room. Of course, it's the room that collects everything that doesn't have a home or needs to be shifted to a charity shop or the rubbish store. So downstairs went a number of boxes from Amazon and other deliveries to be broken up for recycling, and several bags of weird bits that should probably just be thrown out. Old cables, a vcr, a freeview box...etc etc
This is in the smallest, hottest room. I did ask myself 'why'...but as I was motivated I jumped in.
Just ate cold chicken, cold sausage and soft cheese.
I noticed earlier that the bathroom is dusty...will wipe it down eventually.
Why does the outside temperature have any effect on your enjoyment of your guests company? I would have thought having guests when the weather is vile would be much more of a challenge, but I guess we are all different.

The outside temperature dictates the inside temperature doesn’t it? No one sleeps well, and the heat we’ve been experiencing lately can be very draining for some.
Gosh pasta, well done you :)
We did but were glad when they'd gone.
Question Author
We love having family visitors here, Tilly, but are always glad when they’ve gone.
People tend not to visit in the winter, Krystal, making an exception Christmas.
Is it much hotter in the Midlands than the South West? While my bedroom feels warm when I go up to my bed...I still sleep like a log.
Why should you do all the housework?
Crack the whip.
Question Author
He cleans the cars, does all or most of the gardening, and stuff that needs doing round the house so I feel obliged to do at least SOME housework, hoppy. Division of labour ;)
Fair enough.

(I'm just wondering if I do enough. Probably not)
Why is your cleaner not doing the housework ?
I hate it too, Vagus.
I’ve put the hoover round this morning, emptied the bins (because the dustmen cone tomorrow) and cleaned the loo. That’s it for this week!
CBA as my son would say. Loo and bathroom cleaned and a cursory swoosh round with the Dyson - nice and light - the rest can wait until it's a bit cooler
