Today Is National Watch Day.

Some women like handbags and shoes ... I like watches. Give me a limitless credit card and I'd probably buy up a whole Swatch shop. I do think when someone buys a watch, it reflects their personality ... what type of watch do you wear? My current one has a cyan coloured face with white strap - nice for sunny days.

A bit rain overnight but that’s it , nothing more than that ,lovely today as well but had to go shopping as we let stuff deplete before going on hols so I have been on a replenishment exercise ;0)

For really occasions I have an Omega dress watch. Rock crystal glass, diamonds around the bezel and diamonds and sapphires on the white gold strap (where it meets the watch face). It is a tiny little thing with the winder on the back of the watch. A wedding present from my husband, I have never see anything quite like it.
For everyday I wear a square, faced Tissot, yellow metal, with a bracelet strap.

Best watch i ever had was a Seiko Chronograph - bought for a pittance back in the 70s from a Belfast Jewellers. A small bomb had just blown half his shop to smithereens, but a lot of his stock was undamaged. I had been taking photographs of the explosion (and the crowd - hoping the culprit had returned to admire his work), and i offered to help him clean up. He pit it down as bomb damage on his insurance bit the only thing wrong with it was the timer didn't return to zero. Had that watch for some years and can't recall what happened to it.

If I had the money, I'd buy one (or possibly several) of the Patek Philippe Grand Complications range.

This would do me for day-to-day wear but I'd probably buy something else for special occasions ;-)

My dad gave me a gold Tissot for my 21st (which wasn't today or yesterday). I only wear it on special occasions; rest of the time I depend on my mobile for the time.
