Enough work for one day. Time to wrap it up and pour myself a nice glass of red whilst Ebenezer gets the BBQ going.

What are you eating / drinking tonight?

They're precious, aren't they?...
Where are you taking him? Sounds great fun for him.
Glad he's doing well at school. Yes, there's a b/party every couple of weeks it seems! Costs a small fortune these parties. A good suggestion/idea was made on fb a couple of weeks ago. This person suggested a £5 party. Everyone gives a fiver, the birthday boy/girl can then decide what they want to buy, instead of loads of presents, let's be honest, a lot of it is a 5 minute wonder, or plastic toys that just pile up in the toy box or bin! :-) just think, of they're 20 children present, that's £100 they can spend or save. I think it's a good idea. Less financial stress on parents.

We're taking him to Turkey, Patsy. It's one of these humungous hotels with a waterpark on-site. He'll love it. He absolutely loved Kos last year and he was golden on the plane.

That sounds like a brilliant idea re a £5 party. Most of the presents I've bought have been walkie talkies or kids' digital cameras and it's £15 to £25 a pop. He went to a party on Friday when I was away and OH put £15 in the little boy's card because he only remembered about the party at the last minute and hadn't got time to get a present. The cost of buying presents really mounts up and some families must be struggling, therefore a £5 party would be fair on everyone.
Hi all, such an eventful few hours and yes, a GG with ice is most welcome.
We usually meet the in-laws on Saturdays but a phone call this morning told me my brother in law whilst doing some dead heading bent down and couldn’t straighten up, after Voltirol and paracetamol the pain was no better, sister in law called 111 who said an Ambulance would be there ( Thanks NHS, you’re the best), she rang me so I got my daughter to take me through to hers as I’d had a couple of drinks earlier, another friend was there and it was decided she’d follow the ambulance to the hospital after the paramedics decided to take him there, I was left to lock up till my daughter came for me, meanwhile her landline rang, it was yet another mutual friend saying her husband had a third stroke but this time it was fatal, God, what a afternoon, so Yes, a strong GG is on my side table right now

Hi Bobbi. Oh dear, what can I say except pour yourself a very large GG... What a day to have to content with x
Oh, Turkey. A very popular destination. I was thinking somewhere in this country. I love it when they get a nice golden tan. They look so healthy, we all do! :-)
We are going to Benalmadina again, taking the 3 grandchildren. My 2 daughters and partners are coming too. My eldest grandson is just 13, his parents aren't coming, (my son) but he is no trouble. We are going on the 25th July.
Glad you thought the £5 party was a good idea. It worries a lot of your parents. Enjoy your bbq. x
Waiting to hear from s.I.L and I’m going to call friend anytime soon, not knowing what to say

Ah, so you go away the day after OH and I go to Gdansk. It's our anniversary on 26 July which will be our last night there (only doing 3 nights). We do Turkey on 19 August. I just hope the heat isn't unbearable :-(
Question Author
One never knows what to say in that situation, Bobbi. All you can do is ask if there is anything you can do...

Benalmadena is old stomping ground of mine, Patsy :-)
Lovely.
Thats what I'm worried about, it's going to be very hot. Oh well, I'm sure we'll manage :-))
Oh is it? Lovely little place. X
Yes, I’ve rang but her mobile is off , she’ll not know where she’s at right now
My friends going to a place in Turkey , Antalya ,with her daughter and 3 grandchildren,I think it’s a village type place specifically with children in mind , water slides etc
Question Author
It will be hot in Benalmadena in late July.

I used to find Valencia rather warm at that time of the year and that's further North...
We’re going to Mijas on September 1st
Question Author
That's where I'm going, Bobbi. Lara Beach to be precise.

I go back there with my mum in October for her 65th. I had to do something for her to mark such a big milestone. She still grieves terribly for her twin sister 3 years after her passing.

Mijas is stunning. I was last there in 2004.
We’ve taken a Villa there,I adore Mijas Pueblo and it’s square
