to drink Earl Grey and English Breakfast in the same cup? I wouldn't want to be called a Philistine

In any case, I am sitting here drinking my blended tea contemplating the munificence of Emirates Holiday who have just sent me an email offering me a 5-night family stay at their Atlantis The Royal hotel for £9,295pp (yes, that's PER PERSON) and they'll even throw in breakfast. Who's tempted?

So, back to the tea. Am I a Philistine?

I hate tea, any tea, the smell of it makes me wanna hurl :0/
Fraid so. The Earl Gray is to drink and the Breakfast is to dunk your biscuits in.
What's wrong with being a Philistine ?

Really? I couldn't imagine getting out of bed in the morning without at least one cup inside me.

Sorry, that was to Bobbi. ^^

Retro, can't I just be a complete rebel and dunk my carrot sticks in the blended tea?

There's nothing wrong with BEING a philistine as long as no one calls you a philistine. We live in an age where calling a spade a spade will probably get you cancelled...
No, it's not permissable, but it might be permissible :)
Exactly the same feeling as Bobbi...I've never taken tea, ever.
Please be careful LCG - the most famous Philistine was the giant warrior Goliath and we all know what happened to him!

I'll have to have another tea whilst I contemplate that thought, Maggie. I might have a green tea and peppermint this time and dunk my biscuits in some hummus.
Don't worry about it Lcg.
Anything goes these days..
Just don't ever try that biscuit tea. Disgusting.

I too hate tea. Vile stuff!!!

I did actually make the mistake of trying it once, Hopkirk. It is indeed horrid stuff.

I was suitably impressed by the range of tea in the supermarket in Riga. I wish I'd purchased a few to bring back with me.
Not at all, blending different teas to personal preference has a long tradition.
