I used to hate the Gateshead Angel but I’ve grown to love her outstretched arms that welcome you home if you’re driving north

I have to admit I prefer Angel of the North...it sounds more romantic :) We always knew we were truly in the North on our way to Scotland.

IMHO not one of Gormley's most aesthetic pieces but people do tend to take ownership and make the best of their lot. Now, Quantum Cloud is a much more mesmerising art form. Oh well, each to their own LOL

I love Angel of the North and also the guys in the sea at Crosby Beach - Another Place. Generally a fan of Gormley.

Love the Wellington statue with its traffic cone. My grandsons both studied at Strathclyde Uni and I gave them prints of the statue as part of their graduation presents. Kelpies are magnificent.

Angels don't look right with aeroplane wings. Always been a daft representation IMO.
