The Weekend Is Here!

What are your plans? What's cooking? What's flowing?
OH is out tonight with some friends, one of whom was widowed just the other day. We got the sad news on the way to his Granddad's funeral. His late wife was only 54 - no age at all. So OH and his BF are meeting up with our widowed friend and his son for a few quiet drinks and I'll be at home doing very little.
This time next week we'll be boarding our plan to Turkey. I cannot wait...
I hope your weekend is set to be far more exciting than mine. Have a good one.

It was very different back then, Bobbi.
Rowan, that sounds like a nice idea. Especially the bouncy castle bit. I want to throw OH a really nice party for his 50th so I was thinking about a bouncy castle and a hog roast in the garden. Aunt and uncle had a hog roast for their big anniversary and it was lovely!
These days having babies can entail baby showers and gender reveal parties - I never bothered with all that nonsense.

Wife, younger son (40) and I are taking our two grand-daughters to Thorpe Park for the day ( or as much as Grandpa can literally stand). The last time I went there my 40 year old was about 6yrs. The weather is fine and we are taking a picnic lunch. Later we are going out for a pub lunch in our local. Tomorrow we drive the girls back to Christchurch.
diving down rabbit holes in my family tree.
