How did that go?

Plus Sunak has denied Brexit is having a negative impact – we’ve got no hope with such a deluded fool in charge.

It makes you wonder how such incompetents manage to become prime minister.

Well Hymie, instead of doing the, "everyone's wrong but me" bit again, have you considered the other possibility ?
//The whole point of this thread is to point out that Sunak believes Brexit is having no negative impact on the UK – if you also believe that, then there is little doubt that you are a fool.

But there does appear to be many fools on AB..//

I’ve looked through this thread as carefully as I feel inclined to. Who on this thread has voiced any agreement with Mr Sunak on the topic you mention?

I’ve said quite clearly that Brexit hasn’t had a negative impact on me. I’m deliriously happy at the outcome. Not as happy as I might be, I must confess. I’d have preferred we left without the Withdrawal Agreement and preferred the Northern Ireland Protocol had not been agreed (with Ireland and their EU masters being left to solve the Irish border conundrum). But we can’t have everything.

I still don’t understand why you make such an issue out of a politician’s statement. What possible difference to you do his utterances make? What Mr Sunak says on any topic is of no interest to me. He’s totally out of his depth on most matters, talks a load of waffle, tells us what he going to do but never does it. Why on Earth should anybody worry about what he says?

//Although the UK electorate was stupid enough to vote leave in 2016;//

You really cannot help yourself, can you?

//….most now realise they were conned and told blatant lies about no down sides to Brexit,//

As I’ve said before, anybody who cast their vote based on what they heard from politicians has only themselves to blame. As I have also mentioned once or twice, I made the decision in 1992 that I would vote to leave if ever given the opportunity. Nothing that happened between then and 2016 caused me to reconsider (though quite a bit happened which reinforced my decision). Certainly nothing that a few itinerant politicians uttered in the few months up to the referendum had any influence on me whatsoever.

//Having made the wrong decision,…//

In your opinion.

//..any intelligent person would correct that decision//

The electorate is not in a position to reverse Brexit - even if it wanted to. No party likely to form a government has such a plan in their manifesto. There’s a good reason for this – such a major constitutional change cannot – and indeed should not - be reversed so rapidly. The UK has already diverged from the EU in a number of ways and it would be very difficult to reverse that divergence (even if we wanted to). You need to accept that we have left the EU and will not rejoin any time soon.

I do wish you would wind your neck in when you make these posts. You would gain more respect (and get a better debate) if you stopped calling people who disagree with you “stupid.” A few weeks ago I stopped responding to your posts because of this. For a while you seemed to moderate your approach. It seems that moderation hasn’t endured.
what that Brexit is an unvarnished success
