We have a porch which I would like to paint the brickwork. It has a double glazed door, so is not affected by the weather. Can I use an emulsion paint or do I have to use proper masonry paint please?

you can use emulsion as a base and sealant, but give it a top coat of masonry paint,it will look better and last longer.
