I can't access itv x on my Panasonic tv and have read that I would find a fire stick helpful. I'm a bit blinded by science here I'm afraid. Help appreciated.
A Fire TV Stick basically turns a 'non-smart' TV into a 'smart' one. If you've already got a smart TV then it might not really give you much benefit except that it might enable you to access some streaming services which aren't available directly through your TV set (which could possibly include ITVX).
All you nedd to do is to plug the stick into an HDMI port on your telly and use the 'Source' button on the TV's remote control to select 'HDMI1' (or whatever). Your TV set will then act purely as a monitor which displays the output from the stick (which needs to be paired to your home wi-fi router but that's very simple to do so). You then use the stick's remote control to choose which streamed content to send to the telly. (The apps for some streaming services are pre-loaded onto the stick. For others, possibly including ITVX, you might first need to go to the app store to dowload them).

A Roku device can do the same thing too though:
