Sleek trader = Rogue trader. Anag of rogue is rouge (on the cheeks).
4. Mantilla (man + tiller)
Have you bought a copy of Bradford's "Crossword Solver's Dictionary" yet?

Hi ontarioice Your answer of ROUGE was inspired. I only hope it's right - it looks TOO contrived if you know what I mean?
Crofter: Yes, I know what you mean. Couldn't come up with anything else. Perhaps when I see the correct answer I will be inspired to kick myself around the room a few times. :-)
deerstalker

Thanks, yet again, to you all xx

Ontarioice ... It's not the first wrong path I've been down and it wont be the last. Unfortunately the wrong paths I take are mostly of my own choice ... lol ... xx
Concerning Head wear - look up Headdress in suggested reference book you get over 40 types of head wear including Mantilla, Periwig and Tiara.

Under games you get a list of about 100 Games including Crambo, Netball, Octopush and Snooker!

Are you setting Quizzes for Charity -if so, then I'd like to help!
The clue "Sleek trader" might have been better written as:
11. Sleek trader (anag)

.... or more cryptically
11. Found on the head when a trader keels over (Its wearer thinks that this clue is "elementary")

"over" implying the anagram and the "elementary" bit refers to Sherlock Holmes who always wore a deerstalker!
(It's elementary my dear Watson)
