Scottish Field
December issue: All are Scottish words, terms or slang and also could also be regional Scottish terms or variations only used in specific geographical areas. Due to difficulty and often many variations of spelling, some of my adjoining letters might be in error.
3d. Betroth (8) H?N????T
(The last letter T is only correct if 18a is correct, see below)
11a. Glum looking (4-5) T??N F????
Possibly T??N FACED (although not certain yet that the T is correct).
13d. Mantlepiece (12) ????B?E?????
18a. Small ornaments (8) D??????E
I have DABBITIE but have doubts. As it's plural I expected it to maybe finish with a letter S - however I am pretty confident in the answer that gave me the last letter E.
23d. Formerly (3) E??
27a. Coax
27d. Storm (4) ???N
31a. Exhausted (9) ????A???T
Thanks for any help
