Classic Books Off The Gcse List But Only...
News1 min ago
On Wednesday had to go to funeral of friend's brother in a church very far away from me. However I bumped into a man friend of mine from years ago who was with his wife - I said hello to him and of course the wife - first time in many many years and many funerals she got up and greeted me.
Anyway outside church we got slightly talking as it was bitterly cold and they had said they had moved home to another home where the wife said there were many music teachers living there.
So I said "well if you know a Clarinet teacher - could you let me know" - I couldn't believe it when other people joined our conversation and she said "oh she wants to be another Acker Bilk" knowing I am deaf. I was devastated.

My brain is fried at the moment - at the moment I am find people in general friend or foe - just not nice people at all or just don't care.
I am typing this as I don't know any of you at all - but I will be counselling soon - never had it my life but perhaps it will help.
I contacted Samaratans a few times over the years but found no help.
I just feel need to be strong for myself and if I can get that mo-jo and energy then I can go on.
I really don't understand the situation. I am assuming you were joking and making chit chat by saying .. if you know a clarinet teacher let me know...
(Has that phrase got a different meaning that I don't know about?)
Acer Bilk is only clarinet player I can think of, but if you had said piano teacher and she told people you wanted to be next André Previn- would that have been same?
Honestly think it all sounded like light hearted banter and tgat people were laughing at her joke ...not at you.
Sorry if I have got wrong end of stick. Really don't think anyone was laughing at you and hope you can put your mind at rest.
off to compose a letter to my audiology because my hearing even with the aid is going down and down - I have had wax cleared by private specialist but the audiology in the RVH told me that even when wax is taken out - my hearing has gone down even from the bump and MRI taken of it. I don't think the MRI has been completely 100% taken. There is something achy coming from the inside of my head around the ear that is going more deaf.
what a shame, as it shows (in black) what should be pressed to create each note, also you can slow the speed down, to follow along.
To make you feel better about this, here's a true story. I was in a major shopping centre, and saw a group of three people busking on pan-pipes. The music was coming through a speaker and the public must have thought they were wonderful and were throwing them money. As a musician, I knew they were miming, and the music was probably a CD.
