Watched this film last night. Stars Morgan Freeman and Ben Affleck.  Know it was pure fiction, but made me realise how fragile relationships can be between countries and misunderstandings can be fatal. James Cromwell also played a good part as POTUS.

Deutschland 83, a TV programme a few years back, was a fictionalised version of the real events that almost led to a catastrophe, we were in Germany with MOD at the time and it was scary.  It was certainly a series of real misunderstandings which could have been fatal.

Sum Of All Fears was one of the best Tom Clancy books, the film changed the timeline using Ben Affleck as a much younger Jack Ryan.
