Years ago I was a contractor at Barclays when they flirted with VR. All that happened was that anyone any good who could get another job took the dosh and left. The useless ones remained! Genius!

One company I worked for was downsizing and offered VR on the basis that the company had the last say whether you would get the VR.

 

The big boss looked at the list of those who had applied, and announced that since they no longer wished to work for the company, they could all go.

 

The company then had a mad scramble to recruit staff to fill critical positions, to ensure the business could continue trading.

mine will probably  go...  I agree VR is the spem of the devil ( absolutely fabulous) - I was surprised no one reapplied for their old job and carried on..... not reqd to pay back the loolah
