// The rumour followed a hoax in the United States about students who "identify as cats" or "furries".... The rumour has spread to the UK from the US, after Spotify podcast host Joe Rogan was among those who admitted they had spread misinformation. //

Emphasis added. The "identifying as cats" tale is false, and always has been, and it's a shame that so many have fallen for it.

At least this laughable pronoun nonsense is starting to be addressed

ClareTG0ld, hmmm... who and what to believe.... and the meek acceptance of the idea of supposedly intelligent people - people - educators? -  discussing what to do should a child say he/she identifies as an animal really highlights the ridiculous impact that this nonsense is having on society.   Any sensible parent could have told them not to take that seriously and how to respond.  It's simple.   'No,  you are not an animal - you are a human child'.

CTG: "The "identifying as cats" tale is false, and always has been, and it's a shame that so many have fallen for it." - well this story was all over the news:

Apologies, Naomi, somehow the link got corrupted, the below should work.

TTT: the links I've posted are a response to that earlier story. There was no substance in it.

15:01, you sure it was in all the papers including the Telegraph and the Guardian.

Hmmm, maybe that story but I have a teacher relative that said this does happen. the difference may be that the schools dont tolerate it.

As I understood things it came from good old social media.

Here's a recording of the conversation and I'd say the pupil kicked the teacher's April.

It's the mail so no doubt the lefties will claim it's all staged.

'Eddie Izzard has failed in her bid to become a Labour candidate for a Brighton constituency at the next general election.'

As my old tutor Cicero once said,  oh tempora, oh mores!
