WoWo, I read American Psycho as a teen and re-read it several times before the fim came out. I thought the film missed most of the irony and huge chunks of the storyline. There is no way the film could've shown some of the very graphic sex and violence described in the book ( the rat up the tube scnee for example!)and while I believe some things are best left to the imagination anyway(gratuitous violence just for the shock factor) the film just didn't make the most of the audience's ability to 'fill in the gaps' as it were. Just my opinion anyway!
Not only that, but they made a sequel! I haven't seen that, nor do I want to.
Totally agree with Wolf Rat on this one.
I read 'About a Boy' and enjoyed it, but I thought the film was pants. Big chunks of the story changed or missing, total bunk. On the flip side, I tried several times to read 'A Clockwork Orange' but could never get my head round the dictionary of made up words that the reader had to keep refering to in order to understand the story. I saw the film (total cr@p by the way) but at least I managed to get to the end of the story.
