There are about twelve million reasons to investigate if reports are accurate.
Of course vested interests are in play so, nothing to see here, no sweat.

the documents describe andrew being at epstein's house constantly and receiving "massages" all the time he was there. they also describe him having sex with a minor and groping a woman... so there is some evidence at least to suggest that andrew was happy to use epstein's services. of course all this could be cleared up with a free and fair trial but that will simply not happen because of who he is.
Any respect I had for the whole shower died with The Queen and even that was mainly because it was drummed into me as a child and she was there for all of my life.
The new version, programmed to smile endlessly soon revert to hard faced entitlement when things don't go their desired way.
The man should be sent to face his accusers, just like the clown in the wheelchair who was returned yesterday. Let blind justice do its thing for better or worse like it does for the rest of us.
Barsel - //
Why do so many people have it in for Prince Andrew?
I guess it's because he has always come across as a bit snooty and awkward, but that is no excuse for this ongoing witchhunt against him. Randy Andy, air miles Andy. //
It's not that he is 'snooty and awkward' - there are numerous reports, and have been since way before this situation, that he is pompous, arrogant, and rude.
Prince Andrew embraced the sense of entitlement that the Queen gave him, she indulged his bad behaviour in a way she never would have with Charles, seeing him as dashing and fun.
Of course, the saying about being nice to people on the way up, as you may encounter them on the way down, now haunts him, as plenty of people he has been rude to are not shy about telling people now that he is in disgrace.
The Prince has shown himself to be utterly without even the basics of adult judgement, as witnessed by his interview on Newsnight, where her refused to acknowldge the victims of Epstein's crimes, far less offer any sympathy for them.
As for his nonsense about 'not sweating', Ms Maitliss was delighted to simply feed him the rope and watch him hang himself, still believing that the interveiw had gone well.
So the general concenus is that his arrogance and sense of entitlement has come back to bite him, and he has very very little sympathy from anyone associated with him.
//Did he fondle someone's breast? Has this never happened to thousands of girls at drunken parties, did they go to the police to report it? No, but what if it was someone famous, well that's a different matter. //
It's not that he's 'famous', but that he is supported in his sleazy behaviour by the British tax payers, who are fully entitled to expect at least basic manners from a member of the Royal Family.
This latest fuss will die down, but it moves him yet further away from a chance of rehabilitation, which he could begin himself with a little contrition and humility, instead of waiting, as he appears to be, for people to forget what has happened, and let him get back to playboying around the world on the tax payers' money, as he believes he is absolutely entitled to do.
Andy, thank you for taking the time to comment on my post.
I must admit I prefer the words you used to describe Prince Andrew and I agree however, I still don't think his personality should be used against him.
I'm going to stick my neck out here and say I don't agree with the accusations and I hope time will tell if I'm right or not. It's not very often I have such strong feelings about something, but strangely enough, I do about this.
If he did have sex with an underage girl, then I would hold my hands up and admit I'm wrong, but let's wait and see about these new accusations and what exactly they are about.
Barsel - You are of the view that we should 'separate' Prince Andrew from his personality in assessing his behaviour.
I don't think that is possible, for one very good reason - he IS his personality, because we all are.
Our personality is what we present to the world, our 'face' we show to those around us.
We try and present the best of ourselves in order to best intigrate with our families, those around us, and society as a whole.
The problem for Prince Andrew is, he has never had to do that, thanks to the blindess to his faults and serious over-indulgence of him by the Queen.
It means that his unpleasant arrogant boorish nature has been allowed to flourish and grow in a way that would not have happened, had he not been who he is - the Queen's favourite son.
Andrew has grown up in a world where no-one has ever said no to him, or told him that his attitudes to people were unacceptable.
Instead, he has enjoyed a life where, were he to urinate on the carpet, someone around him would instantly comment that it was good for the pile.
That personality has been further flattered and indulged by the people around him - girls, politicians, statesmen, foreign business leaders, have all fawned around him and increased his personal view of his own inherent fabulousness.
It has given him a entire derth of ability to actually see that people indulge him, not bcause of WHO he is, a pompous, arrogant, thoughtless, boorish, thick buffoon, but because of WHAT he is, a prince of the realm who can open doors and facilitate things that matter to people, even though he has no clue how used he has been over the years.
A player and manipulator like Epstein would not have given him a second glance had he not been Prince Andrew, he would be useless, and his charmless company would not have tolerated for a moment.
Much less the tiresome need to faciltate his need to have his imagined personal 'way with the ladies' underlined by forcing vulnerable manipuated young women to indulge him.
So, no we cannot separate Andrew's personality, because it is what has made him the way he is - with his utter inability to see that he alone is the architect of his downfall.
And he will carry on waiting for someone to sort it out, make it better, make things the way they were, because someone always has, and that is the beginning and the end of his problems.
He will never see it, it's far too late for change now, and he will remain bewildered and cast out, never thinking for a moment that the absence of flunkies and sycofants is because he is out of royal favour, and therefore no longer any use.
If he was a nice person, there would be genuine friends who would talk to him, and advise him of the realities of life that he has missed thus far.
But he's not, so there aren't.
There will be no more court cases, this furore will die down, and he will be forgotten, and left sad and lonely and meaningless, and the sad part is, he will never know why.
We don't know what will happen to him in the future.
His ex-wife Sarah and his 2 daughters obviously see a different side to him and so he might not be the sad, lonely and meaningless person you think.
He is also a grandfather now and hopefully, he dotes on his grandchildren as most of us do. People can and do change you know.
I wonder how many people realise that Elvis Presley doted on 14-year-old girls. Priscilla was only 14 when he met her, but of course, he was idolised and not vilified the way P.Andrew has been.
Barsel - // We don't know what will happen to him in the future. //
No, but the signs for rehabilitation do not look good.
//His ex-wife Sarah and his 2 daughters obviously see a different side to him and so he might not be the sad, lonely and meaningless person you think. //
I meant 'meaningless' in the sense of the absence of a role in public life, which he is desparate to regain, but thus far without success.
//He is also a grandfather now and hopefully, he dotes on his grandchildren as most of us do. People can and do change you know. //
Indeed they do, but at the age he is, and given his utter refusal to acknowledge any responsibility for what has happened to him, and around him, again, the signs are not good.
// I wonder how many people realise that Elvis Presley doted on 14-year-old girls. Priscilla was only 14 when he met her, but of course, he was idolised and not vilified the way P.Andrew has been. //
That was a very different time - Elvis would not have got away with that behaviour in modern times, but similarly to Andrew, his position and fame made him immune to the behaviours of the time.
Although, that said, in the Southern States of America at the time Elvis was dating Priscilla, such relationships were thought of as perfectly normal, not not worthy of comment, much less investigation.
Jerry Lee Lewis was genuinely shocked at the outrage he caused by bringing his thirteen-year-old wife over here on tour with him, and she happened to be his second cousin.
Again, such family inter-marrying at such a young age was accepted where he came from.
But Andrew is alive and living in 2024, and he needs to accept that actions have consequences, a concept he has clearly never been introduced to.
It may not be too late, and your willingness to be even-handed and suggest a chance to change being offered is to be applauded.
But Andrew has to look at the real world, not the cossetted vacumn he still lives in. Maybe then, he will actually change.
We shall see.
