I know but who has used stansted airport recently? How long did security take to get through?
As long as you check in on-line, 1 hour 15 mins will be fine at Stansted. The queues at the security gate aren't usually that long and they always seem to move fairly quickly. (i.e. the security checks usually take 5 to 15 minutes).

On popular flights the biggest queues are at the check-in desks but you can avoid these by checking in on-line.

yes, it is a sunday morning flight, 09.35am but national express drops me there at 08.20, unfortunately i cannot get on an earlier coach because of train connection, but i only have hand luggage with me. It is a bit of a gamble.
Assuming that your flight is with Ryanair, the normal minimum ckeck-in time won't apply (because you'll have checked in beforehand) so, theoretically, you're only constrained by the rule that you should be at the gate 30 minutes before departure. In practice you can ignore this; as long as you're there 15 minutes before departure, you'll be able to board. (I've been allowed to board a Ryanair flight 9 minutes before the take-off time but that was definitely 'cuttig it fine'!).

So, you arrive at 0820 and you need to be at the gate by 0920. It takes 5 minutes to walk from the coach stop to the end of security queues, probably 15 minutes maximum to get through security. Add on a generous allowance of 15 minutes to get to the gate. That means that you've got 25 spare minutes built into your day. As long as the coach is on time, you shouldn't have any problems.

Thanks Chris
We arrived at Stanstead airport at 5:50am on Saturday morning, checked in with Ryan Air and stood in the que for security at 6am. We got through the security checks at 07:05 am, then having to run to catch the 7:10 plane (which we did!)

Yeah-so its possible that I wont make it onto my flight thanks to security. My sister went through it 2 weeks ago and it was a full 30 minutes.
