Are TVs, fridges and wall clocks getting bigger and houses are getting smaller

Some of the clocks in Dunelm are between 2ft and 3ft across. TVs in currys will cover a wall, and some of the fridges are getting bigger than the local butcher shop. If the clocks get much bigger you will need to run them from a car battery. :0)

The answer lies in the word SOME. We have a couple of large ones- very decorative they are too;  the rest are much smaller ones. It's good to have the choice

To fill some of the fridges you would need to spend around £400 and have about 10 kids to make it worth the running costs.

You would possibly be surprised to discover how little power is needed to drive large clocks provided the hands are correctly balanced.  I have a largish kitchen clock (diameter 40 cm) and the movement is no larger than the one on a 12cm diameter mantlepiece clock.

Thanks to my good friends at Scottish Gas who supplied me with a display to allow my smart meter to tell me where the money goes I can state with certainty that my American style Kenwood fridge barely registers when running.
