I have just sent off for a forcast of my state pension. Both my husband and I are the same age. I can claim next year when i am 60 on my own as I have worked and paid full contribution for 40 years. He has to wait until he is 65. But at that time , does he get married pension and I have to give mine up and join with his , or does he get married pension and i keep mine , or do we get 2 single pensions??

I expect you will get two single pensions.

The current basic state pension is �84.25 per week (about �4,300 a year). Married couples currently get �134.70 per week but, if you qualify for more than this with two single pensions, then you get those instead.

you are exactly right, each person if they
have paid full contributions ( 39yrs for women & 44yrs for men ) then you qualify for a pension
in your own right.
