Cyprus Holiday

I am off to Crypus on Sunday for a well-deserved break, but i have never been and am unsure what to expect. I am going to Malita Beach, Protatas. Any hints or tips of things to avoid, points of interest, expected costs would be a fantastic help...such as, how much am i likely to pay for a drink or meal?

Weather should be good, jacket /jumper probably will be required at night ,overall costs similar if not cheaper than the UK , Dinner for two including wine ,change from �25 at a decent restaurant, avoid tourist areas and explore the island , rent a car its about �25 per day (Petsas rent a car) and take off to Paphos Harbour,Trodos Mountains, Caves of Greco etc also the out of town villages check the local tavernas in the villages cheaper and great traditional cypriot food. In Cyprus manyana does not mean tomorrow but next week so be prepared Larnaca airport is small and crowded and it is not unusual to wait an hour for your baggage, (baggage handlers not in too much of a rush all done by hand) JUST GO WITH THE FLOW dont rush, take the cypriot pace and you will have a great holiday, I have been there in October for the last 15years and have had good sunny weather and enjoyed every day of the vacation.I hope you will too,Its a great island friendly people (nice KEO Beer)good local wine ,beer spirits excellent local food with lots to explore have a GREAT vacation.Things to avoid;- Mc Donalds, English Breakfast pubs, tourist areas thats about it.

Cyprus is lovely, they say that no-one ever just goes once. its amazingly friendly. and very easy for a british tourist.. you'll love it.

firsty you lucky thing,well we go cyprus every year were even thinking of moving out there.you will love it protatas is great for all sorts of people,lots of bars,resturants,you can get a 3 course meal between �5.95-8.95 food is lovely you get loads of it,keo beer is between �1-�2 really nice.theres a little church on top of a hill in protatas the view is special taxi from the airport is �25-30 takes about 45mins.weather will still be hot but take a thin jacket with you as at night it gets abit chilly.have a fab time xx
