She is wearing her dog collar. So my question is do members of the clergy always always have to wear their collars?? It is like always wearing your nurse/shop uniform on your days off!!

According to Google, because it's a symbol of their faith and it helps members of the community to identify them.

Is it a 'celebrity' episode?  If so, Kate Bottley is only known for being a vicar.  If she didn't wear her dog collar it would be like Matthew Corbett appearing without Sooty.

I know a lot of vicars do wear their collars all the time but some choose not to.

I am in the Church of England and my last two vicars definitely didn't wear their dog collars all the time.

Haven't said that wearing a dog collar easily identifies you as a clergyman and by extension a representative of Christ. Something every clergyman should take seriously. It's a vocation and not a 9-5 job

I don't think that I've ever seen any of our clergy not wearing a collar.  Ages ago my vicar abandoned his when doing things such as gardening.
