Boris is a common name in Russia. Only the left wing anti British obsessed would conclude otherwise.

This was so inevitable.

As I posted elsewhere, why bother to stop him? He had no chance of winning and would have given the "election" a veneer of respectability?

But then we're all surely missing the point. Is it not that in a fascist state elections are not about endorsement (assuming change is out the window - so to speak) nor "respectability" - it's simply about power.
"I'm standing for election and I will win and I will lie to you and there is not a thing you can do about it"
