I was sitting here strumming Hey Joe, my favourite Hendrix track ... and I wondered, would he still 'cut the mustard' if he were alive today, and what type of music would he play?

And what's your favourite Hendrix track?

I agree he's still better than most, but he's sometimes a bit too technical, to the point of being unlistenable.

Stevie Ray would kick Jimi's a$$ anyday of the week.

Gotta give you that one bluvern ... Little Wing is a hard one to follow.

Except if you follow it with SRV's Texas Flood

(can you see a pattern forming here ... lol)
Would Hendrix still cut the mustard today? - without a doubt, no-one can touch him, this ties in with a theory i've had for a while which is: The affluence of the generation(s) which followed the likes of Hendrix, Clapton etc. actually had a detrimental effect because they didn't feel the actual desire to succeed and excel in that field because they knew they could fall back into something else other than music.

Favourite Hendrix track - Burning the midnight oil
...just one?.. hmph

...first rays of the new rising sun...
No idea if he'd still cut the mustard, but I wonder if people would still class him as being one of the greatest?

Fave Hendix - Angel
He'd still be a force to reckon with, though I think there have been a few who are on a par, but in their own way and style. My favourite song is Fire, by a long shot. Move over Rover.
no doubt about it
