Just had two petticoat tails shortbreads and a mug of fruit tea.

Anyone else enjoy a cuppa in the afternoon with maybe a cupcake, scone, biscuit, cheese scone, slice of malt loaf, lemon drizzle cake, etc, etc, or even just a cuppa?

Omg NB - that's a massive set!!

We did add to it when we saw some items come up for sale hence the odd amounts of plates. We started with the bog standard set at the time.

What set is it? I mean, does it have a name?

We have had a very stressful time at work recently so I made us a lemon and courgette cake to sit down and enjoy today.

Lemon and courgette? That's unusual?

Got the recipe off the Good Food website when my friend had an excess of courgettes in her garden and have enjoyed it since. Even my self professed vegetable hating colleague at work likes it.

Just been had a look couldnt remember name. Noritake blue hill 2482

Hmmm, ill have to look that recipe up

Just looked it up nb - that's really pretty.

No, it's not the time of day when I really want to eat or drink.

It's different if I'm on holiday and an afternoon tea is a luxury.

20 28 Bought starter set well before we got married. You can still buy some but a lot of it is marked or chipped/ worn markes. Perfection in old china is absolutely a must. Forgot to add we have 15 pudding dishes also and gravy boat, that much have forgotten what we have.

Crikey nicebloke, that is a huge amount of china!

I have a similar looking dinner and tea service but mine is from m&s, just eight of everything. It sits in its padded zipped boxes in the Welsh dresser, unused for probably ten or more years. I'd charity shop it but OH won't hear of it so it just sits there taking up space.

I have four china mugs which I have my tea in, and thicker mugs for coffee.

Campbellking, OH once made a beetroot chocolate cake which was delicious, very moist, so I imagine courgette cake would be lovely and moist too. Hope the cake helped with all the work stress.

It is a big collection, a big chunk of it is however on display were it should be, glass cupboards in the kitchen. My dear OH insisted on it being in there. When I fitted the kitchen a few moons ago I went for a solid maple set up for strength and stability with reinforced wall supports, looks great with the cupboard light on. Glad there's no bulls in my china shop.🤣🤣
