We found her hiding in a drainpipe nearby, tempted her back and she ran through the house and out of the cat flat. Further observation (after we got her back next time) showed that she was being bullied by one of our other cats.
it is heartbreaking to lose a beloved pet and I hope that you get her back ASAP
Thanks for the posts.
The mother of my cats ('Patches') was also a beautiful calico cat, Toorak.

She had 5 kittens inside here but, sadly, a ginger one died at birth. Later on she was clearly getting fed up of living with four other cats and looking for somewhere else to stay. So I wasn't too surprised when she simply vanished one day. (She'd clearly been very well cared for before she turned up at my house in the first place. So she'd got some experience at finding herself a new home).
That left me with 4 cats but, sadly, my darling Biscuit was killed by a car a few years ago.

So now I'm down to just 3 cats or, if Tablo doesn't return, only 2 of them in future :(
What a gorgeous calico. Ours was the most beautiful cat I had ever seen (but I only have hard copy photos of her - she was called pansy by the CPL because she had two dark spots on her nose). We got her in April 1986. She died from cancer aged 6 - she ran out into the garden after Chernobyl and I always thought that was what did for her.
