Is Painlessly Killing Someone The Same As Painlessly Killing A Fetus?

Today I thought why do people hate abortion If the fetus feels no pain, and is completely unaware of what's happening. My sister is against abortion, and she asked me "how would you like if someone painlessly killed you?". I didnt really know what to say.

yes, as the same as killing someone, even though I believe in a womans rights of reproductive health it is still killing.

Difficult question to answer.  

Some people believe it is the same as both result in end of life of a person.

Others believe a foetus is not a person and a woman should be able to make her own decisions about her body and her pregnancy.

From a legal viewpoint it is very different. It is illegal to kill a person whether painlessly or not; in many countries abortion is legal in certain circumstances.

The majority of US legislators and many others against abortion are men. A woman should have the right to decide if she should have an abortion or not. If the child is born disabled it is usually the mother that is responsible for the care of that child. No one should be able to dictate what any person, male or female, has in the way of medical care for any reason

I wonder what your sister would do if her child were to be born deformed, blind or deaf and with a life limiting condition. This is a decision for the parent/s to be and their medical provider only

I agree with your sister. The fetus is a potential human being. He or she is alive, he or she is a new being.

Your aquaintances know that you are dead and that may affect their life but, as far as we know, a dead person is no longer.
