To shine rubber plant leaves 1 teaspoon milk in a cup water and wipe over the leaves.A drop of olive oil in the compost once a week will keep the leaves glossy as well.
Dust hairy leaved plants like african violets with a dry paintbrush or old clean make up brush. They dont like water on their foliage. I sometimes just put various ones in the bath and spray 'em over with the shower attachment.
You know that nice thick, pink windolene stuff ? don't use that. My son did - on a very well established bathroom vine.
Dead now ( the vine , that is...not my son) He thinks that it is really funny !Me too - he was only trying to help !
I have always used diluted milk, as shaneystar...laughing at larkin though, one of my daughters once, thinking she was helping, sprayed all mine with furniture polish! Don't remember them coming to too much harm!
