Hope one of the legal eagles on here can help ? Our next door neighbour is hiring a pest control company to shoot the feral pigeons in their back garden.  Although we are opposed to such cruel practices, we realise there is little we can do. However, I believe that there are strict controls on this, one of which stipulates that the pellets should not leave the boundaries of the property which has hired them. I did have the specific piece of law relating to this, but can't find it now. T.I.A

One might question the wisdom of deploying scarce law and order resources to investigate the erradication of vermin though, especially when burglary, vandalism and invasion go unchecked.

I don't know any way to get rid of feral pigeons other than poisoning them (probably not lawful) or  shooting them.

Bird spikes to stop them perching, acoustic deterrents, scare tapes to discourage them from your property and practical measures to stop them getting to the crops such as netting

The purpose in question is to protect the crops from the pigeons. The law states shooting them should be the last resort
