Can't understand why he would go off in a car with two men he had just met,leaving ĥis girl friend behind. It just doesn't add up and being left to find his own way back to the place where he was staying.

Completely agree Hazlinny - none of this makes sense at all. And, and it's a big 'and', even if he did stay at that house all night and nothing happened, when he got up in the morning why in gods name did he decide to try and hike about 8 hours back to his apartment?? Why didn't the guys he went back with offer him a lift back, or do something to get him home?  It's just all so odd!

It has been reported that he missed a bus and started to walk - obviously no other traffic to offer him a lift?

Was she his girlfriend? She and the other friend he went to Tenerife with left Jay in the club at 2am.  He didn't leave his girlfriend behind.

He wasn't invited by two men to carry on the party at their Air B&B, nothing very unusual in that.

Next morning he set off to get back to his friends, didn't want to wait two hours for the bus and decided to walk.  Maybe he thought he could find a different bus in another town.  Nothing outrageously peculiar there.  It seems typical lads' behaviour.

But why would he be getting the bus in the first place? Surely whoever's house he was at must have said how far it was, or offered a lift? And why on earth wud 2 strangers pick him up that night and take him home? Doesn't bear thinking about.

Smow, they didn't get to the house until 5 or 6am.  Maybe the other men were too drunk to drive, or asleep. They could have told him they would take him later.  Who knows?

I wouldn't have been expected to be ferried around at that age.

Could speculate that he was promised drugs but there is no indication of that

There must be more than we are being told. Where he set off from was potentially a 10 hour walk.

Tenerife is effectively a mountain - a dormant volcano. Not a simple stroll back to the hotel.

Why would he travel that far with people he had just met?

It's not that far in a car and it is not really so very odd.  That tragic accident last year where four people were found dead days after a road accident had only just met in a club.   As I said earlier, he may have been offered drink or drugs after the club closed.

Chatting this through with some mates, we conclude there will be an answer based on several issues.

He was undoubtedly somewhat ***.  He may have been offered some free drugs with the guys. He may have been invited to partake in some gay sex. It is unclear if the travelling female is actually his 'girl friend'. He has a documented violent history.

Whatever happened in this AirBnB it meant he left alone and without taking any offers of transport. 

I fear this will not end well.

He was only at the B&B for an hour or two, it's likely the men he was with crashed out, he got bored and left.

I don't know that area of Tenerife very well but the village of Masca is on a decent road that leads to a motorway standard main road. No one would set off to walk the whole way on foot, you would stick to the road & hope to hitch a lift IMV.

Sorry folks I posted this in the wrong category.  Now reading theorists online that say he is "in on it"'as is his mother,trying to get as much money as they can on GoFundMe, and that he and his girlfriend are both drug dealers.  All these comments are on a news website.

I've seen the dreadful trolling, comparing the mother and the situation to Karen Matthews. Also claims about his friend, Lucy Law.

I think some people lost any sympathy when his criminal record came to light.  People with too much time on their hands and a vivid imagination have come to all sorts of conclusions including gangland revenge killing; a Karen Matthews type scam; he is being held hostage by drug lords....

I have had to laugh at some of the very helpful suggestions to find him though, such as leaving bottles of water out for him because he will be thirsty, or checking the cactus in case one has trapped him.

I hope he's just bunked up with some girl and has no idea of what's going on
