How many of you take out building and contents insurance...  what is the chance of my house burning down??  My building and contents insurance has gone up from £270 to £409....  can anyone recommend an insurer??!

I switch regularly.

I don't have any high value items and have checked that I'm not over insured on rebuild costs. 

If there's an excess, I opt for the highest based on the theory that if I'm hoping I won't have to claim then it won't matter. If I do have a claim then the difference between £200 and £500 will be the least of my worries.
