Today is Saint Swithun's Day (old spelling) 

Rhyme goes:

St Swithun's Day if thou dost rain

For 40 days it will remain

St Swithun's Day if thou be fair

For 40 days 'twill rain nae mare

 

Apparently it has to rain on St Swithun's Bridge (Winchester) Any Winchester folk able to say what the weather's like there?

It's touch and go in Warwickshire, probably raining late evening. I noticed also that leaves are already coming off the trees. On past experience, I expect it will probably be hot and sunny just as the school term restarts.
