I don't know why it hasn't been demolished but I haven't really followed anything about it being demolished.

As far as the inquiry goes, this will be just another repeat of the PO scandal, where no-one will be to blame, but fault is everywhere.

I agree, keeping as it is is not a fitting memorial and will be hugely expensive.  This from The Standard (London) newspaper:

A government report has shown it is expected to cost £340million to preserve and maintain the ruins of Grenfell Tower and to “realise the vision” of a memorial.

We're not totally skint then.

With that kind of spending, perhaps that's why we are.

yes - demolish it and put up a memorial plaque somewhere.

It was an eyesore before the fire.

In any sensible country it would have been torn down as soon as the forensic examination was concluded.

Is it less costly to demolish and rebuild something than repair it ? I've long since put this news into the past and have no idea of it's present condition.

Unsure why folk want memorials. Maybe stick a plaque up somewhere as a separate act.

OG - it doesn't look repairable to me & who would live in a building were so many died?

Those without a home of their own ?

Whatever authorites are going to do, they should now get on with it.

Demolish it, create a park with the spacemand amemorial in it.  That nwas at least some good comes of this whole debacle.

This is all going on far too long now.  Demolish it and put up a plaque.  What is the point of keeping the eyesore?

if there are going to be prosecutions, maybe it's still a "crime scene"?

Its not out the ordinary to preserve evidence especialy when you have so many lives lost and more than likely criminal charges in the pipeline even though they have photographic evidence.
