Does anyone know if Aldi stocks different items in different parts of the country?

My neighbour really liked the Wagyu sirloin steaks but now her local store only sells Wagyu 'sizzlers' and ranch steaks - thinner, smaller steaks that she does not like.

We are in the middle of four Aldi stores and the sirloins are not sold in any but there is another branch in a more prosperous town about 15 miles away.  Is it worth her while travelling to stock up? She has contacted Aldi and got no definite answer.

Does your local Aldi still sell these steaks?

I don't know if Wagyu is any healthier than any other steak and I do prefer my steak to have plenty of fat, that's what keep it succulent and gives it flavour.  We usually eat ribeye.    We eat a fair bit of venison which is lower in cholesterol, but we eat it because we enjoy it.

The difference between UK and Japan in mainly the Japanese are pure bred, The UK will be just usingn Wagyu bulls or semen on other breeds of cattle. I've had Wagyu Burgers from Warrendale, can't say they are any different than any other burgers. And they aren't cheap.

There are pure bred Wagyu in the UK as well as mixed breeds.

The Aldi Wagyu is Wagyu sired, so not pure

"Wagyu Sired, British Beef Sirloin Steak."

I thought the main point was the way that breed was treated. If beef qualifies simply from association with the father, that sounds a bit of a con.

If we can get the Wagyu steaks at Aldi I'll buy a couple and test them out

Thanks.  We don't eat shop bought burgers, we make our own if we want them, which isn't very often.

My neighbour didn't want the Wagyu burgers, she wanted the Wagyu sirloin steaks, she doesn't eat burgers either

I don't usually buy shop bought burgers ether but I make a exception when they have the wagyu ones in, as they are really tasty!

Question Author

I'll definitely try the steaks if they ever stock them again

Years of cooking, and I've never liked my own burgers. Nor have I liked shop bought. Until I tried Finnebrogues(sp) Wagyu at Sainsbury's

So I buy them occasionally. Very large and filling.
