If one was of the opinion that anyone who voted for Trump was an "uninformed horrible person" how many of those would it take for the opinion holder to think he/she may be wrong?

And if it's anything like the disingenuous nonsense you came out with yesterday, try something else.

why are mods allowed to abuse posters like this and no one else? Is there a secret undeclared Rule 16 c - "or anything" - or Rule 16d "Mods are never wrong and so it follows cannot be deleted "?

Peter Pedant, you have no idea what untitled said yesterday.   I do - and it was disingenuous nonsense.

If you have a problem with moderators email the editors.

"What do you think they have voted for, untitled?"

dictatorship (trump's words... he has also aspired to "terminate" the american constitution)

state violence against political opponents (trump has promised to use the military and police against them and called them "vermin"... he has also promised repeatedly to have political rivals arrested)

banning of books and other entertainments like drag (republicans have already been doing this across the country)

bans on abortion (republicans have done this in many states)

banning healthcare for trans people and quite possibly banning gender transition entirely

somebody who knowingly votes for all this because they think they might do well from it is a horrible person. i feel comfortable saying that.

"disingenuous nonsense" meaning that naomi did not consider it a problem that a prominent trumpist called for eradication of trans people

untitled: "dictatorship (trump's words... he has also aspired to "terminate" the american constitution)" - he'd have to repeal 9 out of 10 of the first 10 amendments. Even though he controls both houses many republicans would baulk at that. More lefty hysteria. There'll be another election in 4 years time as usual.

untitled, there you go,  You know exactly what I'm talking about.  What a pity you didn't initially attribute it to the person responsible - as you should have done - deliberately choosing instead to lay blame on the wrong man - Mr Trump.

Possibly the 'Trans' issue featured less in the consciousness of Americans than immigration, wages, prices, etc?

Indeed.  I said something similar yesterday.  Jobs and keeping hearth and home together is a more urgent priority to most.

i did not attribute it to trump naomi i attributed it accurately to his party. you misread it and refuse to admit your mistake.

untitled anyone that stops the trans madness would get my vote telling children the lies of transgender medicating them damaging them forever is subhuman if people want to dress as the opposite gender fine they used to be called transvestites.

"he'd have to repeal 9 out of 10 of the first 10 amendments. Even though he controls both houses many republicans would baulk at that. "

not anymore they wouldn't. they have thrown their weight behind someone who promises to do it.

besides they can simply convert america into a stage-managed democracy like Russia or Hungary. i have no idea if they will succeed but the fact that so many americans voted for it means they will try and it's only a matter of time before someone tries again.

“Project 2025 (the Republican fascist agenda for Trump’s presidency),”

Are you certain that Mr Trump subscribes to this agenda? Because from what I’ve read, he doesn’t.

“….besides they can simply convert america into a stage-managed democracy like Russia or Hungary.”

Leaving aside the argument that they almost certainly can’t, what if those who voted for Mr Trump are not as uncomfortable with that idea as you are?

The other stuff, we’ve done.

untitled you profess to be phsycic in knowing something about the future you live in the UK, I dont you have a government that had less votes overall but most seats by a big margin, so it can do what it likes how do you square that circle? I will answer for you its left leaning.

Probably not everybody who voted for the Nazi Party in Germany in 1932 was "uninformed horrible person" but the outcome of their stupid action was horrific.

History shows that huge numbers of people can be easily deceived and fall for lies and a personality cult

"what if those who voted for Mr Trump are not as uncomfortable with that idea as you are?"

then they are fascists. there's no other way to put it.

what you're asking me is "yes well what if those americans who voted for trump want to live in a dictatorship." they are people who wish to remove democratic rights from their fellow citizens and their reasoning why is irrelevant.

max137

i don't understand what you are asking me sorry

Trump voters are the nasty ones eh?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c20g31ln2wgo

I think this explains why this is Trump's final presidency:

https://www.vox.com/politics/383616/trump-third-term-constitution-22nd-amendment

"..then they are fascists. there's no other way to put it."

So in your version of democracy, they can't have what they want, even if the overwhelming majority of them want it?

Who decides what they can and can't vote for, then?

a person who votes to end democracy is a fascist newjudge. they want to impose one-party rule and strip democratic rights from their fellow citizens.

you seem incredulous about this. yes, a person who wishes to end democracy and persecute their political enemies and knowingly votes for someone who says they will do so is a fascist. it was true in 1933 and it is true today. how many times?
