I watched Grease again the other day and as always ended up feeling about 12!  What a great movie that is!  Love it!  What are your feel good movies?

Love Actually,  at this time of year

I watched that again over Christmas, Margo.  Another one that leaves me smiling.

trading places

Apollo 13

independence day

...and more

The Krays.

West Side Story (1961) for the soundtrack and the dancing. My best friend and I went to see when it first came out and we are still best friends now, so it holds a lot of memories for me

Have you seen the new one, Margo?  It's magnificent.

Yes I've seen it Naomi and it's good but nothing holds a candle to the original for me because of the memories it holds I guess 🙂

15:12 surely braveheart dougie!

The Green Mile,Kes,and any Will Hay films for me.

Brief Encounter (and it was on tv again last week).

The Sound of Music. I feel good not watching it.

Seriously though, I've not really thought about it.  I confess that Love Actually does appeal to me still. Life of Brian another good one. And then the Ealing Comedies, especially The Lady Killers (I love the way the little old lady gets away with it).

Notting Hill, Love Actually, Grease and The King and I do it for me.

Blazing saddles

Strictly ballroom.Love that film

Petit Nicholas:

Trafic:

The Italian Job, Big Fish or The Princess Bride hit the spot for me.

Naomi I've just noticed that the 2021 version of West Side Story is being shown on Ch4 at 9.00 11th January, thought you might be interested 🙂

The Magnificent Seven, or Canarys The Lady Killers, The Italian job- I'm that old!!

Hi Margo, I actually bought the DVD when it was first available.  I love the original and I love the stage version and I didn't know what to expect - I was rather hoping it wouldn't be ruined - and I wasn't disappointed.   As a re-make of such a well-loved classic it needed to be handled sensitively - and it was.  I thought it quite magnificent.  Just beautiful.
