Was the above Acer Chromebook definitely released on the market in 2020?

As far as I can tell from the internet. I'd be more interested to know when it will stop receiving updates.

That's what I'm trying to ascertain ,Barry 

I've got a new  one which I've not unboxed  yet . I don't want to  open it and set it up , in order to find out when the updates will stop , because I will be unable to return it if it's only got a few years of automatic updates left .

Is there any other way to ascertain when the automatic updates will stop ?

What year was my Chromebook manufactured?

Please check its serial number at its back. For the serial number the typical format is to have the 4th, 5th, and 6th characters to reference when the product was built. The first character is the year date (Y) and the next two (WW), the week in that year it was made.

Yes but if you bought one released today it would have updates for 10 years. 

My iPad stopped receiving updates a few years ago but is still useable

Reminds me - in the back of the larder there are a few bottles of wine and I think , a bottle of rum  - bought on holidays and received as pressies donkeys (and I mean donkeys ) ago .

Funnily enough , we always have a few bottles of Holland and Barrett , ginger wine at Christmas .

Always leaves a nice 'burning' kick in  the throat
