I have an incredible painful big toe. Started yesterday when I woke up and got worse as the day went on. Hardly slept last night with the pain. Also can't move it. Any ideas?

Long shot but could it be associated with my hepatitis?

Thanks.

Nailedit/  Just read this ....

drinking lots of water can help manage gout by flushing out uric acid from the body. Uric acid is the cause of joint pain associated with gout.

It's already been pointed out PP that I really shouldn't take allopurinol while I have hepatitis.

So you're the gout expert?  It is widely known that drinking water helps to a degree!!!!!

my brother had it many years ago and it nearly killed him not getting to his local pub so he cycled round to the pub but it was gout - he said it was extremely painful

N/ Obviously your GP will prescribe what's best for you ... for a few months,  I took Furosemide which resulted is me getting a very inflamed, painful big toe - GP prescribed Colchicine for one week only.
... it was amazing how quickly the toe returned to normal, no pain.
