So I click on the usual link and then I get 'Ummmm ... nothing found, (or words to that effect') try again.'

So I checked and the link when you click - https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk has become -

Https://https://theanswerbank.co.uk  so it doesn't work.  I've only got on here by finding an old email regarding an answer, clicking on it and working from there.

Any ideas, please?

Bing is a search engine.

are you using Chrome? Firefox? Edge? something else?

does it have a star icon on near the top right?

Question Author

I don't know.  I've never seen a star .  It's a bluey/greeny curly C-shaped symbol, I think it's Google.

Question Author

If I scroll down to the bottom of the screen it says 'enhanced by Google'.

google is accessed through a browser.

on the top line you have "help" - click on that and at the bottom it should say "About xxxxxxx" - what is the word after "about .." on your screen? Eg I use firefox so mine says "about firefox"

Question Author

I'll have a go now.

Question Author

It says microsoft Edge. No sign of anything at all saying 'help'.   Anyway, must go to bed now. Have to be up early for writing group.

Really, really grateful for all your efforts. x

Jourdain - click on the 3 dots top right on your screen - that, too, will take you to "help".

Ok it's edge, near top right you should have a star with some lines in its bottom right. Hover over it, that is your favourites click on that then you'll have a list of favourites to add use the star with a little plus sign bottom right. To use later click the star then click the item in the list that you want.

It's one of those things that if I was sat next to you, I'd sort it in 10 seconds flat but it's so difficult when I can't see what you are seeing.

It's taken a big effort just to get you to tell me what browser you are using!

She's gone to bed TTT.

I had trouble a while ago when I could not get onto the AB site by just typing in answerbank as I usually did.

I use Google and I now type in

www.theanswerbank.co.uk

This opens the site to my account now every time. Hope this helps.

I just type, "T" in the browser, it predicts I want the AB address which then appears as, "theanswerbank.co.uk" in the address bar and I just press enter.

23:39 ok but why not just book mark it then it's a click away?

Jourdain, Barry's link (23:39) shows you how to add favourites in edge.

I am having the same issue but I'm using favourites. Mine is inserting the spurious extra www. When I then take it out, and press return it re inserts it! Ok on my phone. Chrome on laptop

I'm so glad it's not just me, bednobs et al. .  Right, shattered as I am after a day with a recuperant OH, I shall nerve myself to try the 3 dots I'm told about.

TBH I don't think it's me, I think it's the interenet and poss. AB..

Question Author

WOW!!!  I did the clicky thing and then went onto what I now know is an Edge Browser bar (how, exactly, is one supposed to know about these things if you have never has any instruction in computers at all?)

I really hope that it is behind the fac than I then typed in 'the answerbank' and got on.

Thank you all very, very much. Fingers crossed.
