Just give the aggressor everything he demands. And I'm sure I saw a report somewhere that one of those demands was.. Ukraine must be demilitarised. What a nutter you are Trump, being sucked in by Putin.

crimea's history does not give russia the right to snatch it or any other part of ukraine. it was the territory of a sovereign state that was not Russia.  russia's goal in all of this was never territory... it was to keep ukraine out of NATO and the EU and to keep it in Russia's corrupt sphere of influence. I reckon they will get that.

14.29 This thread is really about the war in Ukraine and the prospects of an end. NOT what mine or anyone elses level of intelligence is on AB.

Clearly all agreed to an independent Ukraine (which included Crimea) because all were going along with it until the invasion.  It's simply an excuse that the paperwork is conveniently lost (if it was) and it didn't count because the president wasn't fully sober (if he wasn't, and in any case, rumour has it he was usually in a merry state so that'd have been expected & accepted). A bit like the excuse that Russia hasn't invaded anything but merely run a special military operation.

Spot on OG

If this thread is as you say about Ukraine then why are you talking about dirty under crackers.

> They dont comprehend it when a person gets elected saying they will do something and then actually doing it

It's not that he's doing it, it's how he's doing it. Dreadfully ...

[Trump's] declaration before any talks with Russia start that Ukraine will not join Nato nor get back all its occupied land has been widely criticised as a poor start by a man who claims to be the world's best dealmaker.

The veteran Swedish diplomat and politician Carl Bildt posted an ironic rebuke on X.

"It's certainly an innovative approach to a negotiation to make very major concessions even before they have started. Not even Chamberlain went that low in 1938. That Munich ended very bad anyhow."

Easy, How to fool people into believing your telling the truth, but theres a big sting in the tale, its NOT the whole truth and nothing but the truth. thats how Trump and Putin work. If you followed the thread properly and read all posts you wouldn't have had to ask.

For once I agree with you - it was very naughty, but they did have a point historically speaking.  And it should never have been given to Ukraine by Yeltsin in the first place, because of its enormous strategic importance to Russia, regarding the Black Sea.

Yourself and gulliver have turned most threads into something to have good laugh about, so much of the time I only join in for a giggle and it's not often you let me down.  Walter Mitty has got nothing on you pair.

You play nice on your own now then, me back to the topic.

To anyone thats interested in my view.

I think this will be a big test ground for KS, so far he is showing good diplamatic skills, at the same time having half a finger up at Trump

you and your buddy are a big joke on here me old china. No one takes anything you say to be anything other than the ravings of a simpleton.

Putin must be over the moon tonight if he's seen the latest news. Relations strained between the UK and US. A first in 80years. A whitehouse idiot said theres a new sheriff in town.

I shot the sheriff  but I did not shoot the deputy.
