my passport runs out feb 4th 2008, i am travelling to majorca for 2 weeks commencing 14th august 2007, will my passport be valid?

Of course it will.
As it says on the tin VALID UNTIL 02/08.
As a sensible precaution submit your passport for renewal by at least mid December 2007.

I assume you've got a British passport. If so, it's valid for travel to any one of the other 24 EU countries right up until its expiry date.
