EDF New Electricity Meter

I have recently had a reconditioned meter put in by EDF as my electricity meter was very old. I have just noticed a red light flashing all the time, inside it, what does it mean? Is it a warning or is it normal?

Don't worry smurf, the more appliances you use the faster it will flash,perfectly normal.

If it's the same as mine it'll be 1000 pulses per kWh
