It os very important to lenders, you will find it difficult to get credit if they can't verify thisinformation, either from this address or your pervious one if you've not lived there for long.

Every lender has a different credit score system. Some put a higher emphasis on dufferent parts of the score. No lender publishes it's credit scoring system because if people knew what lemder's were looking at then they can work ways around it. Also the system are regularly reviewed and changed to keep them up to date. A lender has a duty through money laundering regulations to prove you are who you asy you are and you live where you say you live. The voter's roll is a good way of checking this but there are many other ways, such as driving licence or utility bill. In conclusion - it helps but it's not vital.
