no padlock

I have just visited a secure page where I had to give my credit card details and although the address was https (with the S) there was no padlock in the bottom right corner so I rang the company and they assured me it was OK .............any body got any ideas??? is it because I use the new Internet Explorer 7 ?

They tend to do this because they think it's more efficient. However it's not good practice from a customer comfort point of view as you can see.
Personally I try to avoid anyone who does it
