Following on, a bit, from porschebabe's Q 'Lonely', what is it with some men (or, indeed, but to maybe a lesser extent, women) that they have to dominate and control their partners' lives, or behave in such a way as to prevent their partners from doing things they would like for fear of ridicule, interrogation and suspicion etc. We're all adults, after all, so why should we need 'permission' from our partners to do something?

In my experience I'd say the ration of men to women is a lot nearer to 50:50 than you'd think, but to answer your question there seems to be people who feel that they always need their partners approval. Naturally these people would be attracted to a "dominant" character and vice versa. It's the old nature/nurture thing as well - are these people turning into the same person as a parent because of their parents' influence/behaviour or their parents' genes? I know this is a bit of a simplistic generalisation but it's a big topic.
if you trust each other than it shouldnt matter what you do. but they will only have as much power as you give them, if they contol you, than it means you are 2 subbmissive.
