DNA is found in the nucleus of all cells and is composed of deoxyribose.its a stable double stranded informational molecule, encoding genes which in turn lead to functional proteins. In order for proteins to be made, DNA is unwound and a complentary copy is made of one of its two strands. This template strand is processed to splice out code for any non functional genes and to make it more stable. This unstable single stranded molecule is RNA, it differs from DNA in the fact that it does not have a hydroxy group at the 3' carbon (i think!) and so is called ribonucleic acid.RNA is then transported to the ribosomes in the cell where the complementary code is translated and proteins are produced
